What do you think of when you hear the terms "Lion's tooth"? When I hear Lion's tooth, I think of fierceness, strength, boldness, and power. I imagine seeing a fierce lion roaming the safari. I imagine the lion walking majestically and confidently because it knows its power and is able to walk boldly in who it is. The lion does not question its strength. It does not question its worth and it certainly does not question its hierarchy as king of the jungle.
I bet when you read the terms "Lion's tooth", you did not think about the dandelion. To tell you the truth, its not the first thing that popped into my mind either. However, another name for the dandelion is "Lion's tooth". The dandelion was named lion's tooth supposedly because its leaves resemble a lion's tooth. However, when I think about the fierceness of this flower, I believe its fierceness and strength is what makes this flower a Lion's tooth.
I've already told you about how incredibly resilient the dandelion is. It grows almost anywhere. It doesn't let the opinion of others stop it from growing and you simply cannot keep the dandelion down. It makes itself known in places where some might not think that it belongs. People may try to underestimate the dandelion but they certainly cannot overlook the dandelion because it makes its presence known simply by showing up everywhere. Its a lion's tooth. It has a powerful fight to survive.
I admire the dandelion. I admire the dandelion's fight to survive which is why I have chosen to name an entire brand and lifestyle after this fighter of a flower. Like the dandelion, we all have dark days where we close up but also like the dandelion, we must reopen for the sunlight. Although life may not have dealt the best of circumstances for some of us, we owe it to ourselves to fight like the dandelion. We owe it to ourselves to continue to show up in our own lives. We owe it to ourselves to continue to bloom despite the world's efforts to pluck us up.
The dandelion is a beast of a flower just like the magnificent beast it was named after. So when life seems overwhelming, rough and you simply want to throw in the towel, remember that you are a dandelion striving to live a dandelion life. So don't fail to bloom because of your circumstances, just switch into beast mode and show life that you are a lion's tooth!
